Nvidia and Hugging Face sit between talks above $13 billion and a reported $12.9 billion agreement
Last year Hugging Face turned down $500 million from Nvidia at a $7 billion valuation.
One report now has talks above $13 billion. The other has $12.9 billion already agreed.
The Next Web: Nvidia has been in talks to acquire Hugging Face at a valuation above $13 billion, according to Business Insider. The Information puts the process further along, reporting an agreed deal at $12.9 billion.
Business Insider: the talks have not produced a signed agreement and could still fall apart. Neither company has confirmed either version. Nvidia did not respond to a request for comment.
Fortune cites The Information at $12.9 billion and could not independently verify it.
Hugging Face last raised in 2023, a $235 million round led by Salesforce Ventures valuing it at $4.5 billion. It turned down the $500 million Nvidia check because it did not want a single dominant investor.
TNW via The Information: about $150 million of annual revenue, up from roughly $100 million two months earlier, which would make $12.9 billion something in the region of 86 times sales.
Fortune: Clem Delangue signed a letter this year, with Jensen Huang and more than twenty other companies, urging the government to support open models.
I would wait for a company sentence.
